Employee Spotlight: Peggy Weir, CISR

Peggy WeirPeggy Weir came to McMahon Insurance Agency in 2000 and has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. Peggy obtained her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation and works as a Commercial Lines Account Managers assisting business owners with their policy needs.

Get to know Peggy:

    1. What are 3 words to describe McMahon Insurance Agency?
      • Peggy: Amazing, Honest, Friendly
    2. What drew you to McMahon Insurance Agency originally? And how has McMahon Insurance Agency changed since?
      • Peggy:  I worked for the Inland Agency from 1977 – 2000, at which point McMahon Agency purchased Inland Agency.  The employees from Inland Agency became employees of McMahon Agency. I was extremely nervous at first because I had never worked for anyone else and was just learning computers, etc.  The McMahon’s made me feel like family right away and the agency is a wonderful place to work.  I am very comfortable with my co-workers and learning more and more each day.  I am a lot better with computers now too!
    3. What is the favorite part about working for McMahon Insurance Agency?
      • Peggy: My co-workers are great to work with.  They are all right there if you need anything.  I also love interacting with the clients.
    4. Tell us something about your family that might surprise us.
      • Peggy: My mother not only has 19 grandchildren, she has 32 great-grandchildren!
    5. Top three life highlights?
      • Peggy: I have one major highlight, which is raising my granddaughter, who is 15 yrs old. She is involved in police explorers, referees soccer, puppy training classes- new puppy, Charlie (Australian Shepherd). Most nights I’m running her around and I love it!
    6. What phobias do you have?
      • Peggy: High bridges.
    7. What do you do for fun?
      • Peggy: For fun I love working in my yard and fixing things around my house.  I also have so much fun on crowded Sundays at my mother’s with my 6 brothers & sisters along with all their kids and grandkids.
