Employee Spotlight: JoAnn Venditto, ACSR, CISR

JoAnn Venditto came to McMahon Insurance Agency in 2002 as Marketing Coordinator and in 2004 she completed her Life and Health License and ran the Life & Health Department. In 2007, JoAnn attained her Property Casualty License and Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation. She is now the Condominium Department Manager and obtained her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.

  1. What is your proudest moment at McMahon Insurance Agency?
    • JoAnn: Being hired back in 2001.  I was new to the area, a Mom with young children, and I appreciated the opportunity to return to the workplace. 
  2. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
    • JoAnn: Play a musical instrument, most likely the piano.
  3. What are 3 words to describe McMahon Insurance Agency?
    • JoAnn: Professional, Loyal and Accomplished
  4. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
    • JoAnn: I love hiking, I have done some really pretty hikes when I went on vacation both in California and Hawaii.  Just taking in the views at some of the points really makes it worth the effort.  
  5. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
    • JoAnn: Grocery shopping. When my daughters were younger I abandoned an entire cart full of groceries because the store was sooo crowded.  I see home delivery of food like Blue Apron or Amazon Fresh in my future.
  6. What drew you to McMahon Insurance Agency originally? And how has McMahon Insurance Agency changed since?
    • JoAnn: I like that it is a family business.  They work well together and foster that great a team atmosphere. As for the changes? Mostly growth, I cannot believe how it has grown in new business in the last 15 years that I have been with them.  Happy to have been a witness to their success.
  7. What was the best concert you ever attended?
    • JoAnn: Billy Joel in Philadelphia.  Great night and he has not lost a step.
  8. Where’s your favorite place in the world?
    • JoAnn: Where ever my husband and children are.
  9. Tell us something about your family that might surprise us.
    • JoAnn: I am the youngest of seven, 5 girls 2 boys.    
  10. Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
    • JoAnn: Someone that owns a vineyard in California or Europe.  I would love to learn that type of business.  
  11. What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
    • JoAnn: North end of Boston.  My daughter goes to college there and we have really enjoyed the city. You cannot beat a good Italian meal!
  12. If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
    • JoAnn: Italy or Tuscany specifically.  My husband and I have that on our bucket list…for someday.
  13. What is your favorite family tradition?
    • JoAnn: Thanksgiving at my house.  Great food, great company.  Love hearing the house full when our family can all get together.  That is rare these days.
  14. Do you have a favorite author or quote?
    • JoAnn: I love Robert Frost, Two Paths Diverged is one of my favorite poems of his.
  15. What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?
    • JoAnn: Patience. Honest.  Courtesy. Even when delivering bad news.  Teamwork, I truly believe in a team environment, not expecting your employees to do anything you would not do yourself.  I think that is very apparent at the McMahon Agency from the top down.
  16. Top three life highlights?
    • JoAnn: Marrying my husband, having my daughters and being lucky enough to have a Mother who is 93 who has lots of grandchildren and here to see most of them graduate high school and some college. 
  17. What do you do for fun?
    • JoAnn: I love to walk my dogs.  I have two King Charles Cavaliers, they have lots of energy, they keep me active.  
  18. What phobias do you have?
    • JoAnn: I hate snakes, not sure it’s a phobia though.
  19. What is the one thing you cannot resist?
    • JoAnn: Chocolate Chip Cookies
