Barbara KielBarbara Kiel joined McMahon Insurance Agency in 2014 but began her insurance career in 1985. Barb is a Commercial Lines Account Manager, specializing in Business Owner Policies, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Employment Practices Liability, and  Umbrella policies. Barb has earned the designations of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR), Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI), Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS), and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).

    1. What is your proudest moment at McMahon Insurance Agency?
      • Barb: My proudest moment was when I received my CIC designation.  The designation took 20 hours of instruction and a 2 hour essay exam. This was something I had wanted for years and was able to work on and achieve here at McMahon. It is a personal highlight in my career. 
    2. What are 3 words to describe McMahon Insurance Agency?
      • Barb: Commitment, Pride, Dedication
    3. What drew you to McMahon Insurance Agency originally?
      • Barb: I had started my career in a small town agency, then migrated to the big corporate world. Being in that corporate environment was difficult for me since I felt as if customers were being treated as numbers and production reports were the priority.   Individualism was lost and I was required to work “inside the box”.  But at McMahon Agency, this is completely different!  Here, the agency is committed to serving the customer and their needs, and to recognizing the individual’s and business’ needs.  Our move to our new building will enable us to further grow and enhance our service.
    4. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
      • Barb: I moved to Vermont when I was 19 and lived there for almost 10 years.
    5. Top three life highlights?
      • Barb: The birth of each of my 3 sons!
    6. What do you do for fun?
      • Barb: I like to garden, go to the gym, and spend time with my granddaughters.
    7. What phobias do you have?
      • Barb: Closed in spaces!
