The McMahon Insurance Agency can trace its roots to 1922 as Haney Lloyd Chattin Real Estate & Insurance. In the 1960s, Albert Halliday purchased the firm and it became the Chattin-Halliday Agency. In 1981, Bill McMahon, Jr. bought the business and began operating with two employees and one office. In 1991, we became McMahon Insurance. Over the years, we have grown toÂ serve our clients from two locations and with over 35 employees.
Since day one, weâ€™ve been organization dedicated to our community through our extensive involvement in it, and to our customers. We realize the priceless value of service, whether it is in response to an insurance claim or general question. As our president, Bill McMahon III believes, â€œWithout quality customer service, insurance is just an expensive piece of paper.â€

William J. McMahon III
Bill graduated from LaSalle University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He also holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR), and Certified Workers Compensation Associate (CWCA) designations. He began his professional career while in college performing special projects and residential inspections for McMahon Insurance. After graduating in 1995, he spent 12 years experiencing every aspect of the insurance industry in preparation for his current position as President. Bill is on the board of the NJ Professional Insurance Agents, and is a board member and past president of the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Finance Committee. Bill resides in Upper Township with his wife Anita, and is blessed to have four wonderful daughters.
Maura McMahon Primus
Vice President & CFO
Maura is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the McMahon Insurance. A proud member of the second generation of company owners, Maura began working at the agency during high school summers and holidays. Upon graduating from La Salle University with a B.A. Degree in Communications, she began working full-time in the agency and has served in various capacities over the past 28 years. Maura oversees the Accounting, Computer and Human Resource Departments. In addition, she is the Chairwoman of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, and Trustee of the Cape May County Chamber Education Foundation. Maura is also a founding member of the Under the Bridge Rowing Club, where she enjoys rowing in the beautiful bay behind Ocean City.
Michael is the Claims Manager for McMahon Insurance, responsible for clients who have suffered a loss, working closely with our carriers and adjusters to ensure claims are handled quickly and fairly. He has been with the company full time since 2006, but part of the agency since his early childhood. Michael has worked in multiple capacities from advertising to website management as well as a Personal Lines Account Manager prior to becoming the Claims Manager in 2014. He maintains the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR), and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations, and is currently pursuing the Associate in Flood Insurance (ANFI) designation. In addition, Michael is a former member of the Board of Trustees at the Ocean City Historical Museum as well as a member of the Ocean City Citizen’s Emergency Response Team. He lives with his wife and daughter in Greenfield, New Jersey.
Patrick is Sales Coordinator, working with the Sales and Commercial Lines teams in our Ocean City office. He began his career with McMahon Insurance in high school after classes and during summer breaks. During this time, Patrick performed special projects and residential property evaluations for the Condominium and Personal Lines Departments. He graduated in 2004 from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media Studies and Digital Culture. He spent 5 years working in St. Thomas as a Travel Industry Sales Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, and 2 years as Brand Manager for S.A.B. Miller. Patrick has been with the company full time since 2012 and holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. He resides in Upper Township with his wife Kate, son Cullen, and daughter Claire.
Brian McMahon is a Commercial Account Manager working in our Ocean City office. He has been with the McMahon Agency full time since 2009, but began his professional career while in college performing special projects and residential property evaluations for the agency. Brian was raised in Ocean City, attended Ocean City High School, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Marketing from Mount Saint Mary’s University Class of 2007. Serving two years in the hospitality industry while working at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Club prior to obtaining his insurance license has made serving and satisfying customers’ needs Brian’s favorite part of working at the McMahon Insurance Agency. He also enjoys getting know customers, building long-term relationships, and helping their business grow by making sure they have the best coverage and premium combination they need. In 2016, Brian obtained the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in order to be able to share the best insurance knowledge with his clients and other members of the McMahon Agency team. Brian currently resides in Upper Township with his wife Meghan and their daughter, Mairead.
Condominium Account Manager
Joan has 30 years of insurance experience and has been with McMahon Insurance over 15 years. She moved to the Condominium Department in 2004 and now maintains the northern half of the condominium accounts in Ocean City, serving the many friendly clients with whom she enjoys interacting. Joan holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.
Bonnie is a Personal Lines Account Manager in the company’s Ocean City office and serves clients with last names beginning with Q-S. She has been part of the McMahon Insurance team since 2009 and holds the CISR designation. Before that, she was in management for seven years in retail. In her personal life, Bonnie enjoys the wonderful Ocean City beaches in the summer and cooking/baking for her family both at home and at work. Her husband and son Jared have opened their own business which will be another adventure she is looking into helping them grow.
Customer Service Representative
Darleen is a Personal Lines Account Manager assisting clients with their homeowners, flood, and marine policies while maintaining a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. Darleen has been a part of the McMahon Insurance team since 2004, bringing over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, having worked previously at Prudential Insurance Company.
Personal Lines Technician
Betsy came to McMahon Insurance in 2012. As our Personal Lines Technician, she works hard to keep her department running smoothly from the front desk in our Marmora office. Betsy is active in her community and previously was a Board Member of Dennis Township Schools.
Personal Lines Account Manager
Jake joined the McMahon team in 2018 as a Personal Lines Account Manager assisting clients with Auto, Homeowners, Flood, and Personal Umbrella policies, and is currently working towards his Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. Jake recently graduated from York College of Pennsylvania; obtaining a major in Political Science and a minor in Intelligence Analysis, where he was also Captain of the Men’s DI Rugby Program and ran DIII Track and Field as a sprinter. In his free time, Jake enjoys surfing at Ocean City’s finest beach destinations.
Susan Coulter brings years of customer service and administrative experience to our Ocean City office as our front desk Receptionist. Sue’s favorite thing about McMahon Insurance is the welcoming feeling that everyone extends, making anyone that walks in the door feel like family. Sue lives in Somers Point with her husband, Steve. They are the proud parents of eight children and have two granddaughters. Sues daughter, Kara, also works at McMahon and they enjoy having their lunch breaks together.
Personal Lines Producer
Beth has been in the insurance industry since 2009 and joined the McMahon team in 2016 as a Personal Lines Producer. Her specialty is Coastal Homeowners & Flood Insurance and helping clients with their new home purchases. Beth is currently working towards her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) certification. Beth resides in North Cape May with her husband Albert and son Finn.
Zachary Eberson is an Account Executive in the company’s Commercial Lines Department. He has been with McMahon Insurance since 2013 and is based in our Ocean City office. Working side-by-side with his clients, Zach not only designs an insurance program specifically tailored to each business’s needs, but also educates them to minimize their potential for a loss and to be prepared in the event a loss does occur. Zach holds the Customer Service Insurance Representative (CISR) designation. Born and raised at the shore, he is an active member in the community. Zach was on the Ocean City Beach Patrol for seven years and serves on the ambassador committee for the Cape May County Chamber. He resides in Seaville with his wife Brittany (Sedberry), son Gabriel and daughters Aubrey and Blake.

Condominium Account Manager
Eileen is a graduate of Rowan University (formerly Glassboro State College) and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. She holds designations as a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR), Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI), and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations. Eileen has been with McMahon Insurance since 1987. She started in the Personal Lines Department, moved to the Commercial Lines Department, and is currently in the Condominium Department. Eileen dedicated many years volunteering with the drama program at St. Joseph Regional School in Somers Point. She is currently involved with the American Red Cross New Jersey Region, and resides with her husband and children in Egg Harbor Township.
With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mark was previously employed with Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, a global insurance brokerage and risk management services firm. He has been with McMahon Insurance since 2009, working in the Personal Insurance Department and has broad experience in personal insurance sales, underwriting and claims reporting. Mark holds professional designations of Certified Professional Service Representative (CPSR) and Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR).
Andrew has been with McMahon Insurance since 1991. As the Sales Manager, Andrew specializes in designing and tailoring insurance programs for midsize and large businesses. Andrew is a Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Workers Compensation Advisor (CWCA), and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). His experience and education supports strong partnerships with his business clients, providing cost containment solutions and risk management strategies. Andrew was raised in Ocean City and is an active member of the community, currently serving on the Board of Trustees at the Ocean City Tabernacle, on the Board of Trustees for Gilda’s Club South Jersey, and on the Cape May County Republican Committee. He and his wife, Lorraine, reside in Ocean City with their daughter, Sydney.
Commercial Lines Technician
As Commercial Lines Technician, Steacy is responsible for preparing key data and following up on outstanding issues. Steacy joined us in 2016 and brings a lifetime of customer service and industry experience. Steacy prides herself on superior service and is looking forward to developing relationships with clients and assisting them any way possible. Steacy was born and raised in Upper Township and still resides there with her two children. In her spare time, Steacy enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
Barb is a Commercial Account Manager working in our Ocean City office. She has been with McMahon Insurance since 2014, but began her insurance career in 1985. She has earned the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR), Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI), and the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations. She recently earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. Barb lives in Vineland and enjoys spending time with her three sons and granddaughters. She loves the outdoors and going to the gym in her spare time.
Claudia is a Commercial Accounts Account Manager for the Marmora office of McMahon Insurance. She has been with the agency for 14 years and has over 30 experience in the insurance industry. Claudia holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. Born and raised in Upper Township, she has strong roots in her community and is Board Member of the Dennis Township Board of Education.
Briana Mitchell is our Technology and Media Manager. She is responsible for the planning and implementation of a variety of technology solutions including marketing and media project managment. Briana joined the McMahon Insurance team in 2016 and works across each department with their specific technology needs as well as manages internal reports and procedures. She prides herself on strong communication and follow through while instructing customers on our client portal. In her spare time, Briana enjoys spending time with her kids and husband, Tony.
Commercial Lines Technician
Barb is a Commercial Lines Technician in our Marmora office. Barb has years of excellent customer service experience and prides herself on her immaculate organizational skills.
B.J. is a Personal Lines Account Manager who works in our Marmora branch. She has been with McMahon Insurance since 2007 and serves clients with last names beginning with Me-P. B.J. has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Rowan University and holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. She enjoys helping our clients with their insurance needs and building personal relationships with them.
Dennis joined the McMahon team in 2017 shortly after obtaining his Property & Casualty Insurance License. As a Personal Lines Account Manager in the Ocean City office, he interacts with clients ensuring that all of their insurance needs are met. Dennis graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Advertising, where he was also the President and Captain of the school’s Division III Ice Hockey program.
A Receptionist since 2008, Suzie is one of the friendly voices that greet you when you call McMahon Insurance. She is a member of St. Augustine Church in St. Damien Parish where she is a Eucharist Minister. Suzie lives in Ocean City with her husband.
Pam is an Account Manager in the Personal Lines Department where she writes new business and assists existing clients. She began her career in the insurance industry in 1997 and holds a Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) designation as well as being licensed in Health Insurance. Pam also maintains a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. Pam is active in Beacon Church in Galloway where she helps support Hope Chest, which gives food and clothes to anyone in need who lives in Galloway, Smithville, Absecon, Cologne & Egg Harbor City. Commercial Lines Manager
Michael brings over 25 years of commercial insurance service, production and management experience to clients of McMahon Insurance. He holds Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. Over the years, Michael has partnered with all types of businesses and public entities, from the larger and more complex risks to the smaller family owned businesses on their risk management/insurance and commercial surety programs. He serves as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee of the BIG I NJ (formerly the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of NJ), as a board member and former chairperson of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Southern NJ, as a member of the Executive Committee on the Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland Counties Municipal Joint Insurance Fund, and as a member of the Coverage Committee of the Municipal Excess Liability Fund of NJ.
In his personal life, Michael serves as a volunteer elected official in his community, coaches and manages youth soccer and Little League baseball, and serves as the Chairman of the Staff/Parish Relations Committee in his church. Michael and his wife Tammy reside in Gloucester County with their three sons and daughter.
Customer Service Representative
Kara is a Customer Service Representative for the Condominium Department in the Ocean City office. She began working for McMahon Insurance in 2014 and in that year received her Property & Casualty Insurance License. Kara graduated from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. She recently obtained her Customer Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. Kara was married to her husband Kenny in April, 2015.
Brandee is a Personal Lines Account Manager in the company’s Marmora office and serves clients with last names beginning with G-J. She has been with McMahon Insurance since 2005 and holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. Brandee enjoys building relationships with her clients and helping with them with any questions and concerns they may have. She is a lifelong resident of Upper Township and resides in Seaville with her husband and two children.
Customer Service Representative
Christina is a Customer Service Representative for the Condominium Department in the Ocean City office. She started working at McMahon Insurance after Hurricane Sandy and holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. A graduate of Rider University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, she spent five years in management at another firm before joining McMahon Insurance. Christina resides in Marmora with her husband Doug, son Connor, daughter Taylor, and rescue dog Lando, and is looking forward to building relationships and helping customers with their insurance needs.
& Employee Benefits Manager
Terry is the Financial Services and Employee Benefits Manager for McMahon Insurance. With over 25 years of experience as an employee benefits consultant, he is responsible for designing and implementing creative cost containment solutions in employee benefits and business continuation for commercial clients. As a Certified Insurance Instructor for the State of New Jersey, he has written and taught continuing education classes for the past 10 years. Terry is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City.
Beth is a graduate of Salisbury University where she studied Communication Arts and Marketing. She has been with McMahon Insurance since 2007, and currently works as Technician in the Condominium Department in the agency’s Ocean City office. Beth resides in Upper Township with her husband and two sons. Her favorite aspect of working for the agency is the ever-friendly atmosphere and also getting to work in the town where she was born and raised.
Lynne is a Personal Lines Account Manager who joined the Ocean City office in 2017. She has over 34 years’ experience in the personal lines insurance industry and serves clients with last names beginning with A, T – Z. Lynne holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation as well as a NJ Real Estate License. She enjoys assisting her clients with their insurance needs and making sure they are educated on coverage options available to them. Lynne’s favorite thing about working at McMahon is the exciting technology used and the warm, friendly atmosphere. Lynne lives in Egg Harbor Township with her husband Chris and son, Christopher.
McMahon Agency welcomes Debbie to the insurance industry. Debbie worked in banking for many years and holds an accounting degree from Rowan University (formerly Glassboro State). As Bookkeeper, Debbie applies over 10 years of accounting experience to her role. Debbie enjoys the friendly and helpful atmosphere here at McMahon Agency. In her spare time she enjoys reading and scrap booking. She supports her daughter’s activities by being an active Band Parent and Treasurer for her travel soccer team. Debbie resides in Galloway with her husband Rob and daughter Kristen.

Pat has nearly 30 years insurance experience and has been with McMahon Insurance since 2003. Pat’s experience, along with her work ethic, was the perfect fit to serve the company’s Atlantic County and Cape May County (excluding Ocean City) condominium clients. She holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.
Condominium Department Manager
JoAnn is Condominium Department Manager at McMahon Insurance. Before coming to McMahon, JoAnn worked with insurance companies training agents on quoting and submitting new business applications using automated systems. She joined us in 2002 as Marketing Coordinator and in 2004, JoAnn completed her Life and Health License and ran the Life & Health Department. In 2007, JoAnn attained her Property & Casualty License and Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation. She joined the Condominium Department and in 2014 was promoted to Condominium Department Manager. She recently obtained a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. JoAnn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the College of New Jersey in Lawrenceville. She resides in Egg Harbor Township with her husband Michael and daughters Kimberly and Julia.
Peggy is a Commercial Lines Account Manager in the agency’s Marmora location. She has worked at McMahon Insurance since 2000 and has over 30 years in the industry. Peggy holds a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.
Scott works with employers in developing and instituting risk management programs. With more than 28 years of experience as a commercial insurance broker, risk manager and consultant, he brings an innovative and creative approach to managing client risks. Scott is a graduate of Villanova University with a B.S. Degree in Administrative Science. He has continued his insurance education by earning the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Work Comp Advisor (CWCA) designations. He is currently working on obtaining his Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation. An active member of the community, Scott has served as president of the Exchange Club of Ocean City and the Ocean City Junior Wrestling Club, as well as past board member of the Ocean City Education Foundation. Currently, he is the treasurer of the Ocean City Red Raider Football Association.
Angela is Branch Manager for our Marmora office and specializes in the procurement and maintenance of new personal accounts. Angela’s goal is to save customers time and money while making sure they have the best coverage. An expert in insuring coastal homes, she has worked in the insurance industry for nearly 30 years and has been an integral part of the McMahon Insurance team since 1991. Angela holds the Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) and the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designations.
Angela lives in Northfield and has two children, Katie and Nicholas, and enjoys traveling near and far watching her son play baseball.
Commercial Lines Technician
Nancy joined us 2016 and brings with her 10 years of experience in the insurance industry. Nancy’s attentiveness and ability to juggle numerous tasks helps support our Commercial Lines team. Nancy has three wonderful children, Jacob, Tyler, and Leah with her husband Timothy. Nancy is active in St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish as Eucharistic Minister and Vacation Bible School Program Leader.
